Androfem not working
«

Hi ladies! I’ve had my results in from back and my SHBG has gonedown to 130 from 187 but my FAI is still only 1.1 I’ve been on Androfem for over 6 months and 3 months on 0.75 and recently increase to 1.0 as advised by my specialist! My oestradiol levels have also dropped to 362 on 6 pumps! Anxiety low mood and headaches all back with a vengeance! Dreaded news Oestrogel bottle started 8 days ago! Would this effect T levels sorry I have no idea

I don't know the answer unfortunately. I guess this one will need referring to your Meno specialist. I don't suppose your blood tests were taken at different times of day or with a different duration of time between putting on gel, Androfemme and taking bloods. Remember bloods taken are only a snap shot of your levels at that particular moment. Having said that you say your symptoms have come back. Another thought where do your put your oestrogel? I swear I get much better absorption on my forearms rather than back of upper arms. Make sure your skin is free from oil. I like to wash with simple soap first. Maybe exfoliate? Tiny little changes like that may make all the difference

Thank you Gnatty! I apply to outer upper arms and inner thighs! I have emailed my specialist but obviously the reply takes time! I actually went for a full blood count test as my SHBG was high last time and the specialist wanted to rule anything else out and the GP had asked for a hormone profile at the same time! Not knowing this I had applied my gel and T about 2 hours before which is why I thought things should have been higher ?

Hi Flan,
Sorry you’re having a rough time. IF the Oestrogel isn’t delivering the correct dosage/what your body is used to then your body may be converting some of the Androfeme to estrogen which would affect your T results. That’s just my thoughts, I’m not a professional.
I hope your MS replies quickly.
