Dhea
« on: March 14, 2022, 10:31:13 AM »

Nothing changes much I feel. Came across this from the House of Lords in 2004! Still no further research though…

https://publications.parliament.uk/pa/ld200506/ldselect/ldsctech/20/20we26.htm

Anyway, I’m just embarking Dhea, so will let you all know how I get on.

Is anyone else taking it at the moment?
I read in a book recently that taking it at night means it’s more likely to go down the testosterone pathway and if you take it in the morning estrogen one.
So, based on this I’ve decided to take it at night as not taking any testosterone at the moment.

Hi, Marchlove. Have you a professional guiding and monitoring you with this? Can I ask what delivery method? I know one or two ladies are using Intrarosa, topically of course and others may have tried or be trying sustained systemic treatment which we know is the only way to ascertain efficacy. Sorry not to have anything definite, but, hopefully, they'll be along if they have the sort of information you're looking for. What are your hopes it will address? 🤔

Hi Postmeno3
At the moment I’m just taking oral 10mg Dhea, got off the internet, but I do have a specialist who said last time I saw her that I really should be taking pregnenolone and Dhea for primarily my adrenals but also it’s many other anti-aging benefits.
I was a bit reluctant about it all to be honest but when I got my zrt cortisol and Dhea saliva test done and my Dhea was rock bottom, I jumped the gun and ordered Dhea myself!
However, I’m due to see her next month so will admit my jumping the gun and question her more fully regarding the benefits, dosage etc
I’m not taking it for VA (no issue with that at the moment) but I’m hoping it will improve my energy, stress response and sleep.
I’ve read that sublingual actually works better than topical or oral so will discuss that with her. Also, that women actually need very low doses of Dhea, especially if you have low BMI.
I’ll keep updating as I go along but only took it last night so not in a position yet to state any benefits or side effects such as acne.

I wish there was more general awareness of how DHEA is so important. Isn't it known as the "mother" hormone? I'm sure I've read that somewhere. It conjures an image of the mother on the nest ensuring as best she can that all the chicks (aka other hormones) below her have what they need to thrive. I'm not good with the processing of densely-presented, scientific material which frustrates me as bullet points work so much more effectively for how my brain works, but understanding how everything interacts and subsequently behaves as a result of DHEA feels increasingly important to me. Early days, but it seems to be gradually stirring up curiosity more and more in menopausal realms! 👍

This arrival is rather interesting. It says that Dhea has biological benefits in its own right. Energy being one of them!

Hi Marchelove, donyou take Hrt? I am asking because I spoke toba lady on another forum who took Intrrosa and Oestrogel and her Oestradiol level skyrocketed znd she felt really nervous. She stopped the intrarosa afterward.

Yes Dada39, I do take HRT, so will have to monitor my estrogen going forward and reduce it if necessary.
My plan is though not to stop the Dhea, only on a low dose anyway, as I want the benefits from the Dhea for adrenals, brain health and energy etc
Only on day three and so far ok x

The thing with the Keto is the only benefit as far as I can see is weight loss.
You need to get tested for cortisol and Dhea with a saliva test, don’t just guess and supplement. It’s an easy test that you can order online, just put saliva in a test tube or on a swab 4 times a day.
If your cortisol is low you’ll need pregnenolone, so don’t just go trying to supplement Dhea without the test.
Armed with the test you can then hunt down a specialist to help you.
