Testosterone serum level 0.9 nmol/L
« on: March 08, 2022, 05:35:58 PM »

Hi
Knowledgeable ladies  :). I have an appointment with my gp tomorrow to discuss testosterone which has been suggested by my meno specialist.

The gp has done a blood test for serum testosterone ( no oestrogen test has been done)
The result is 0.9 nmol/L and it says normal.

Can anyone tell me if this level would allow me to be prescribed testosterone (for low libido and sensation) so I can be prepared before my phone consultation.

Thank you

I think you have a strong argument. I have been taking it for a year now. I had blood tests done at Christmas. My testosterone levels were 1.1 and Free Androgen Index was the same. My Meno specialist said anything below 2 is considered to be low so I have now increased my dose. Do you know if they calculated your FAI?

Thank you gnatty
It looks like only the serum has been tested, I will check with gp when I speak to them as my meno specialist did ask them to do a FAI for baseline.
