Utrogestan queries
« on: March 02, 2022, 07:12:36 PM »

Hi, I'm 49 , peri, been taking hrt ( oestrogel 2 pumps every morn and utrogestan for 14 days pf month, 2 tablets a night). I'm finding the utrogestan is great for improving my sleep but I feel it also makes me tired throughout the day , and very moody. Also, I get a pain in the left hand side of my lower abdomen every time I start the the 14 day part of the regime, for a few days.  My periods are irregular , didn't have one last month, and before that I went three months without a period . I am also two months into using testogel (has not kicked in yet) , just for reference.

My question is , would there be a problem if I just took one tablet at night instead of two, to reduce the tiredness during the day, for either 14 days , or, I know a lot if ladies take one tablet every night, throughout their cycle. I have an appointment to see my gp, but not for another 3 wks, nightmare getting an appointment,  plus she isn't that knowledgeable anyway !! Need to get rid of this grumpiness and fatigue. Feel miserable.  Happened last month too!

I have to take Utrogestan by 8pm at the very latest otherwise am very tired and sleepy and drugged up the next day. If taking it sequentially, it’s 200 I believe. And 100 if taking it consecutively (every night)
I also take it virginally.

I too had pain in left hand side of abdomen when I was on the sequential  utrogestan 200mg for 12 days. I have now started 100mg a night constantly and feel absolutely dreadful. Nausea, drowsiness, headaches and itching. I'm thinking of trying it every other night vaginally.
I'm at a point where I'm considering if the benefits are worth all of this.

I too have had the side pain on left side. It comes and goes and I recently had a GP appointment to check it out , I do find though if I am stressed it is worse though.

I have recently started Utro nightly combined with oestrogel in morning. I don’t like it, I am drowsy, brain fog worse than ever and feels like a vice pushing on my head. And so itchy , my skin feels like it is crawling, I am going to give it a little longer but sod this forever!
I hope you ladies find the right balance soon.
