Hi, I've just posted a similar question, I have had such severe leg cramps (I used to suffer with this during periods when I still had them) I am almost rattling with the amount of painkillers I am having to take, its keeping me awake at night as well.  I've been taking HRT for just over a month now & am getting Evorel Conti patches from my Dr.  This is so much worse than the symptoms I was having, I can't go on like this or I'll lose my job if this pain continues.

Hi  Sez and geminij

Sorry to hear you are both suffering from pain. I have no clue as to why it happens but I sympathise.
I was on Evorel Conti for a while which sorted out the aches and pains but have been put on a different regime as the patches no longer seemed to work. I now have pain in my knee which is agony and has been solid now for 3 days. I just wish that one day I will wake up and not have these pains which seem to move to different parts of the body. I know ladies have posted on here you do have to give HRT more time to settle but sometimes it is best to get it checked out for piece of mind. It also keeps me awake at night and my legs feel like lead when I get up. Sending best wishes. X

Hi Sez
Seen your reply. I am not sure how the others do the quote in a a box from each posts , I am useless with tech.
Glad you have a consultation booked, hopefully GP will sort and put your mind at ease. How long have you been on the patches?
I only started my the gel and Utro last week, not feeling great but hopefully it will get better as early days, I have been like a zombie today, achieved nothing! Still have the pain in my knee, it’s like toothache in my knee.
Keep us updated. QOR. X

Hi there,

Yes I use to get cramps down my legs when i started the hrt gel. If I put it on my arms, same, pains down my arm. So I stopped straight away, I started again nearly a year later but on a quarter of the doese and I slowly built it up with no issues. hope this helps

Hi,
Molly - sorry, as a newbie I too have no idea how to reply back to an individual message so hope this posts ok.
It's the patches i've been taking, though I've not put one on since Sunday but still I'm in agony, just thankful I've not had work the last 3 days as don't know how I'd have coped, I'm so groggy with painkillers & lack of sleep.  If I ever get a Dr appointment I shall mention reducing the dosage, thank you.

I live in the United States. I have been on the Estradiol patch 0.025 for 11 months & Micronized Progesterone USP capsule vaginally inserted at bedtime 11 months. Around month 6 I started having calf pain & cramps. Fast forward to month 11 & both legs are in constant pain with severe cramps, spasms, heaviness, tingling, sharp pains, joint pains & weakness. My menopause specialist says it's not the HRT but that's the only thing different. She had me go to ER to rule out deep vein thrombosis & pulmonary embolism. My d-dimer blood test was normal but ER refused to perform a doppler ultrasound. I was told it could be vascular issues such as PAD, PVD, fibromyalgia, neurological or coming from my lower back. I'll be seeing my doctor a week from today to investigate further. I was reading some patients develop back & leg pain with HRT regardless if it's oral or transdermal. I will stop HRT for now until we figure out what's wrong. I can't even exercise, it hurts to walk, hurts constantly even at night. Please, rule out an vascular disease & possible blood clot issues.
