Blood results help?
« on: February 08, 2022, 01:11:40 PM »

Hi All,

I’ve been away for quite a while, lots to deal with but hope you’re all well!  :)
I’m now seeing a private Newson Clinic consultant in conjunction with my GP. I’ve an appointment next week to discuss bloods. However hoping someone on here can help with blood results.
I’m on Lenzetto 3 sprays and 100mg Utro daily.
Bad hair loss especially at front, acne, no energy & highly irritated a lot of the time. Feeling overwhelmed. No libido. Weight stable.

FSH - 3.9 U/L
Oestrogen level - 979
Sex binding globulin - 177 (19.8-155.2)
Testosterone - 1.4 nmol (0.4-1.2)
Free androgen index - 0.8% (0.5-4.7)

Thanks everyone!  :)

I'm afraid I don't have a lot of knowledge however I think your Free androgen index is a bit low. Mine was 1.1 and was told by my specialist at NH that anything below 2 was considered to be on the low side. I was told to increase my testosterone. So now instead of a tube of testim lasting 10 days I use it over 7 days. I suspect yours is low, because your SHBG is high. I expect you will need to contact NH again for further advice unless your GP is very knowledgeable? Sorry I can't be of more help. There may be someone along shortly who is more clued up!

Hi Gnatty,

Thank you, your reply has helped.
I know the consultant will explain to me in detail next week what’s going on but I’m interested in hearing from anyone who has been told something about their results, just like your experience with the FAI. I had no idea it should be above 2 ideally.

Oh I misunderstood, so you are seeing the specialist next week not the GP. That's good! Let us know how you get on. It will be interesting to compare notes.
