Utrogestan dosage
« on: February 07, 2022, 02:43:39 PM »

Hi, I am new here so not sure if I am posting in the right place. I am in perimenopause and have regular periods, and my lovely GP has prescribed Oestrogel 80g, 2-4 pumps per day and Utrogestan, 100mg, once per day, continuously. I am waiting to get a Mirena coil fitted for my progesterone but until then I am on the Utrogestan. I am worried about the Utrogestan dosage because when I have previously read about HRT online, including on NHS website, it says that women with regular periods should be on monthly cyclical, 200mg per day Utrogestan. The regime I have seems to be what post menopausal women take, according to what I have read. I have an appointment with my GP next week to check my dosage but in the meantime could anyone shed any light on this as I am anxious about taking hormones in the first place and a week feels like a long time to wait! Any feedback would be gratefully received  :)

Hi Dotty, Thanks for your reply, much appreciated. I already started taking it 6 days ago which was day 7 of my cycle. I followed my GP's instructions on the box rather than the leaflet inside as I though she might have had a good reason for it. Not sure whether to continue as I am until I see my GP next week or not ...

I think I might just continue as I am until I see her. Does anyone know if this will mess up my cycle or cause any other problems for me?
