Thanks, Sage. I suppose Gina 10 will be cheaper than Vagifem, or there will be trouble ahead!

Over the counter sounds good considering how difficult it is to access NHS GPs and menopause specialists.

But I wonder how doctors are going to make sure women are well informed about perimenopause and menopause when so many doctors don't seem to be?

Also wondering why this vaginal oestrogen will only be available over the counter to women who are over 50 and post-menopausal? Don't they know lots of people go through menopause younger than that? And lots of us use vaginal oestrogen in perimenopause?

This is what the public consultation needs to be aware of before it reaches any decision. Moreover, isn't it what everyone has been asking for, that all the 'scaremongering' cancer warnings should not be mentioned in the PIL of low estradiol levels formulations? If there's no chance of cancer (or a negligible chance), why would a prescription be needed?

Following a diagnosis of Oestrogen receptive Breast Cancer a couple of years ago I was told to stop using Vagifem right away. My GP and Consultant have since refused to prescribe it  :(
