Menopause Matters magazine ISSUE 76 out now. (Summer issue, June 2024)
I can never understand why ABs are offered - World Wide use of ABs is a huge problem with bugs becoming immune to treatments.3 days for an embedded urinary tract infection isn't enough. I would suggest that you begin using appropriate vaginal atrophy treatment, because VA mimics UTIs really, really well.
Were urine samples sent to a Lab for testing though ........... the only way to prove an infection is present. Rubber protection (Durex) can cause irritation which may not be infection. When did you last seen the Gyny? Problem with using ABs on an 'in case' basis leaves the body open for lack of response should a nasty virus/bug attack.
I have Jules, best thing ever. I haven’t had a UTI for almost 2 years now. I also use VA treatment but still need this. My urine was always sent for testing so I knew these were true infections, I would rather take 1 antibiotic after sex than keep taking a whole course.
