HRT and abdominal pain
« on: January 18, 2022, 04:59:58 PM »

Hello. I have been on HRT for 3 months. Oestrogen gel and Progesterone. I am still taking cerezette contraceptive. I still have my womb. Since starting hrt I've started to get abdominal pain. It's hurts when I pee first thing in the morning, when I cough, laugh or sneeze. When I bend down and when I lift anything heavy. I also get terrible cramping and pain for a little while after orgasm, so after the initial joy  of my libido returning, it's now interferi g with the return of my sex life! I saw clinician today who I feel wasn't very knowledgeable of hrt and menopause. They referred me for a scan. If that comes back normal, they said they'll refer me to a gynecologist. I still haven't had a period. Could this pain be from my womb lining thickening from taking Progesterone and it not shedding? I asked the clinician though but they said nothing, just referred me for this scan. Has anyone else experienced similar?

It's a nuisance ain't it!  Good that you are getting a scan, it's a base line.

Hopefully someone will be along with advice.
