Good morning,

My recent blood tests after 9 wks on 2 pumps ofoestrogel show my level at 280 .
Trying to find what should be optimal range and finding lots of different info and ranges .
Has anybody got more info on that ?

Has anyone had a smear test/ cervical screening while on hrt ?
Were you  given any advice on when to have it ( i am on a conti regime)
and getting some irregular bleeding that are quite unpredictable in  length which makes more difficult to book an appointment .

Is is still very important in meno to have them quite regularly?

Hi! I think that one should resist putting anything into the vagina for 2 days prior to a smear test.

I can't advise on the other queries.

As i am using utro vaginally  that  could be an issue then .
I Should receive a reply from my surgery regarding it but not sure when so but in the meantime thank you CLKD .

I think levels over 250 are generally needed for bone health but some need higher levels to alleviate symptoms. Optimum level is different for everyone

my palpitations and hot flushes as night sweats have stopped with the 2 pumps .
Gp mentioned possibly increasing  to 3 pumps to reach estrogen levels between 300-500  but didn’t have the time to ask about the benefits in that phone call as discussed testosterone etc,so unsure if i should increase or not and how would that interfere with the amount of utrogestan neeeded if i go up …

Hi levels of oestrogen will be different for every lady. You need as much oestrogen to stop your symptoms… for some that may be 200 and for others may be 600. If your symptoms are being controlled on 2 pumps then there’s no need to increase.

The amount of Utrogestan is the same up to 4 pumps. That is the licensed dose.

I have had smear tests when on a Conti regime. If you are still experiencing bleeding after 6 months on a Conti regime then you may be better on a Sequi regime . Yes, it’s important to carry on having smear tests when recommended. xx
