Thanks, I keep considering it but then get put off with dealing with the GPs.

Do you have other meno symptoms? It may be that your joint pain is helped my hrt, mine has been, but do bear in mind there are other causes of joint pain too which your gp may wish to investigate.

You could try some HRT patches - menopause symptoms can be similar to under active thyroid. I have my blood checked regularly for underactive thyroid as have had symptoms & have family history of it, but they always say it’s fine.

Local vaginal oestrogen should help your UTI’s etc and can be used with other HRT safely, plus no limit on how long you can use it for. I’m 53 & have used it for yrs - I was in constant pain & now longer get any UTI’s. I use Vagifem but a cream may be better for you

Hi suzysunday - please look at this thread where I pointed the OP to the BMS recommendations and quoted their statements on HRT over 60:

The ovestin is great and has helped a lot. I am worried about side effects on hrt like bleeding and weight gain.  Everything just seems so stressful to start a new regime, which I know sounds really bad excuse.
