Hello Angelasurrey

You are welcome.  Unfortunately none  of us know how long this journey will be so you are not alone there.

I think Sandrena gel is definitely worth considering, my meno specialist uses it herself which tells you something.

Wishing you well.

Thanks Kathleen, that's really interesting on Sandrena. Out of interest, would there be a way to measure out a smaller  / accurate dose in one Sandrena sachet? (for example, half a sachet).

Side note: While Googling Sandrena just now I noticed that Dr Newsom has updated her fact sheet about the dose equivalents and in it it now says 2 pumps of Oestrogel is equivalent to "1-2 sprays of Lenzetto" where has previously it had said 1 spray.

So this would seem to agree with what other forum members have mentioned previously - that it is perhaps not as strong as the manufacturers make out. No idea why I have got on so well with it then, but it worked better for me than Estradot at the same dose  ;D

Gilla,
Would you be able to link me to Dr Newsons fact sheet on HRT types and dose comparisons please? I can’t find it anywhere.

Thanks.  :)

Nas that might be because the previous link on her website (which I had bookmarked) has now been removed. So I searched and found this one - and noticed the "1-2 sprays" of Lenzetto vs the 1 spray it used to say on the old link!

Hope that helps!

Thanks Gilla,
That’s exactly the information I wanted!

Lenzetto is going to be my next trial if I can’t get on with lowering my 75 patch to 50 ( to stop bleeding!)

In my head, 2 sprays was the equivalent of the 50 patch or two pumps, but then was sure I read somewhere that lenzetto was a weaker product and more may be required. Either way, I will start low on the spray if I do trial it.

Thanks again 😀

Hello Gilla999

I am using two and a half sachets of Sandrena  at the moment. The gel is quite thick and I simply bend the sachet in half before cutting off the end and squeezing out the contents. How accurate  this is I don't know but it's the best I can manage lol.

I hope this helps you and take care.

Hey Kathleen how are you feeling on the gel? I'm up to 6 sprays on Lenzetto with Meno specialist support, Androfem and Utrogestan. Ive been trying to get some relief pretty much all year and can't believe how rubbish I still feel. Wasn't absorbing on the gel do moved to Lenzetto but tbh nothing transdermal has worked as well as when I first started on a tablet. I'm just exhausted by the emotional side of this situation and sick of the trial and error. Xxx

Hey Sazzle, was thinking of you the other day.

Sorry you are still struggling; I am too and beginning to wonder if this is life forever!

Could you revert back to tablet?

The trial and error of this journey is unbelievable isn’t it?

This is my third whole year of pratting about, trying to find relief, trying to work, trying keep the house tidy etc etc. Trying to keep my  head above water essentially.

What does your menopause specialist say? Mine is good at chucking different Hrt products at me, but then leaves me to fathom it all out by myself!!

Anyway, I REALLY hope next year is a better year for all of us who are struggling with this nightmare.

Xxx

Hey Nas
She is very nice and a on a mission to help women. I just can't believe how long it takes. I have ordered some elleste conti duet which was my very first HRT trouble is I think this helped at first but then my own levels dropped more and I started with the anxiety. Interesting today O have not taken any estrogen or T and actually feel a bit bette???? I saw you stopped cold turkey I'm half tempted to stop completely. I know it's called the change but I don't actually want to become someone else which is what I feel like. DD called me miserable yesterday that just about sums it up. All the while Davina is everywhere saying how marvellous she's feeling ...0 months later I'm still here. Here's hoping to a better 2022.....??xxxx

Sazzle, unless you are feeling brave, i wouldn’t recommend going cold turkey. I did this two weeks ago. Well, it was hell. By Christmas Eve, I was so full of anger and rage, it was scary! I couldn’t string a sentence together and Christmas Day was very hit and miss! You may be different though.

Personally, I don’t think Davina has done women any favours. Largely because she failed to mention just how long the whole process can take!!

I am the same. OH asked when this was all going to be over and DD 17 said she never wants to get the menopause and is there a vaccine against it!!

Oh well... here’s hoping we get some respite soon.

I’ve got femeston conti and BIJUVA ( both oral)  but sacred to trial either!

Xx

Hello Sazzle42115

I actually prefer the Sandrena gel because it is thicker, dries faster and doesn't require a large amount of skin.

At one point I was using so much Oestrogel that I thought I was greasing up ready to swim the channel lol. Also bending the sachets in half has helped me to reduce my dose from three sachets to two and a half. I also use Androfeme every day.

I am post meno and my only remaining symptoms are the emotional ones of frequent low mood, the jitters and tearfulness.  I don't have any difficulty with absorption and my meno doctor told me that my hormone levels are now good.  I am to monitor how I feel for another month and then email her to discuss further.

I have never tried Lenzetto but if you want to try a different formula of gel, Sandrena may be an option for you.

I am also exhausted by it all and the occasions when my moods actually settle and I feel back to normal are absolute bliss.

I hope this helps you in some way and take care.

Great post!  I was on Oestrodose which was blooming brilliant.  I started at half a pump and then quickly moved to a full pump, whilst it’s not much it was just AMAZING!  Life was good again after so many years of hell.  Then it all went to shit when my second prescription was Oestrogel not Oestrodose and a number of symptoms came back - plus the gel was taking 20 mins to absorb.  My GP said Lenzetto would ‘change my life’ and that one spray was the same as 1.5 pumps of gel.

I”ve been on Lenzetto for about a week now and the first few days were good but now my horrendous skin itching, brittle hair and fatigue/lack of energy is back.  I don’t know whether it’s because the spray is too much, too little, not right or what!  I’m taking Utrogestan cyclically which I don’t really like - nightmares, waking up early in the morning, drowsy and sore boobs - the first month (this is my second month).

I’m on private meno waiting lists but my GP is v hard to get hold of to talk to about it and the itching is driving me crazy!!

I have now read three different dose equivalents on three different supposedly informed websites - including Dr Newson and the bms.  One says the one pump of Oestrogel is equivalent to 1=2 sprays and another says 2-3 sprays (unless I’m reading it all wrong with my brain fug)?  I’m on one spray but fear two may be too many.  Can I use gel and spray together?  I’m wondering whether to try one spray and half a pump of gel

If you discover the winning formula, do let us know Dotty!

I have lenzetto in my box of products, but clueless what dose to use, as so scared of mood dropping or becoming angry. I’ve cut my 75mg to 50mg, following episodes of bleeding. Currently awaiting scan.
At, present mood, is relatively stable, but not great. Can feel a few crampy pains, so no doubt the lower dose isn’t going to stop the bleeding either!

It’s all a huge effort all of this!

No idea what this lenzetto compares to. I doubt even the manufactures know!

I had found my winning formula - one pump of Oestrodose.   It was my ‘magic gel’ as I called it but because it’s a parrallel important I can’t get it again amd im just so gutted.
