UPDATE
Developed symptoms of VA flare: ****ly sensation in bladder, wanting to wee all the time, funny smell to urine and this odd sensation of pressure so I
-upped the vagifem to every night (repeating reload)
-got some cranberry juice
-drank more fluids
- took painkillers and anti inflammatories
- swapped from oil based lube/moisturiser to water based (as a couple of times the vagifem didn’t dissolve although i was used yes ob on the vulva only I did use some internally thinking it might help)
NOW:
- ****ly bladder sensation has totally gone
-going for a wee is normal (no irritation/funny smell/frequency/urgency)
- the odd sensation of “pressure”/“swelling” that I thought might be a prolapse, seems to be less intense as a feeling of pressure, but seems to now localised of discomfort/occasional stabbing pain to this one specific area of slight swelling that I can see at the entrance to the vagina (located at what would I can only describe as the 8o’clock position if I was pointing to the area when a doctor was examining me…if that makes sense)
Yesterday and today, the swelling/discomfort was really well controlled with brufen and using Yes WB internally and I was able to go about my days without actually being constantly, uncomfortably aware the sensation of pressure just inside the entrance to my vagina all the time.
I’ve been wondering if it is possible to get inflammation of the bartholins glands as a result of VA? Does anyone know? Grateful for any advice/ideas/ of if this might be the case and what to do next? Thanks all. Hope someone can help xxxx
Hi everyone, justvwondering, is it possible to have a flare up of VA when using vagifem x5 per week? This last couple of days I’ve had a slight feeling of pressure at the vaginal entrance over the last couple of days. No peeing problems. I can’t see anything untoward other than a bit swollen on the labia near the entrance which is not overly sore to touch. Have a low tummy ache but am due a period this week. I’ve been worried that it might be a prolapse which would just be my luck as everything seems to stabilise and go well for ages and then…whack! Something else to deal with. I don’t know if its relevant but I had a couple of days off hrt last week as I just thought i’d give it a go without, but the flushes and sweats came back after about three days so I started again. Don’t know whether to increase my vagifem to every night for a while to see if that helps first. J xx
