Which meds work for nocturnal adrenaline surges?
« on: April 08, 2022, 08:03:32 PM »

Hi there,

Just wondering if there's any herbal treatments or meds that can help stop my nocturnal panic attacks and adrenaline surges that wake me up every night in the early hours?

Really scares me and ruins my quality of sleep.

I'm a bit desperate now. I have diazepam, used it twice, but makes me very tired and drowsy during the day and I need energy and the work I do requires concentration.

Appreciate any tips and advice, thank you!

I’ve found magnesium glycinate works for me. Helps me sleep and keeps me calm

The amino acid phosphatidylserine will lower your cortisol for about 7 hours. It takes about 1-2 hours to kick in when cortisol already high or if you take before it rises you will just feel relaxed and not notice the stimulation as it brings it down from high.

You can get easily online, it's also good for the brain in general. However, if you are someone whose cortisol dips during the day then restrict it to night otherwise you will feel too relaxed!
