It’s a yes from me too! My problems didn’t start until around four years after the cessation of my periods and they’re still ongoing ten years later.

I have voted.
It makes a lot of sense to have a post meno board.
What happens post meno is very different to the peri situation.

Anyone post meno and not on HRT?

Hi Nas,

I've been postmeno since February 2020 and I'm not on HRT.

Hello ladies.

I have already voted in favour of a Post menopause board but I wanted to add that my problems also  became much worse after my last period. My GP told me that  hormonal issues resolve at three years post meno but that is when mine became more intense and I asked for HRT. I am 65 now and still experiencing anxiety and tearfulness daily.

Although as post meno women we don't have our own hormones to contend with, we can still find ourselves on a roller-coaster ride of symptoms.

Take care everyone.

K.

I thought I’d sailed through my menopause Kathleen, peri didn’t affect me at all, in fact I felt really well, but how wrong was I? Four years after my last period the VA hit me with a vengeance, along with painful joints, anxiety, plantar fascitis, insomnia, brain fog etc etc . I was prescribed Vagifem and later I progressed onto full hrt. ( still on the combi patches)
These did help for many years but now, ten years down the line, everything is coming back with a vengeance, along with pelvic floor problems . I’m 64 so realise some of it will be down to ageing,  but the dreaded anxiety, low mood, pelvic floor issues are really getting to me and you are right, we are still on that rollercoaster ride. Issues don’t  miraculously disappear unfortunately.

linz57, it's horrible for you to experience meno symptoms.  After 10 years, one would expect that their hormones have settled down.  Obviously, it's not the case for you and it's very unfortunate.  I  am nearly 2 years postmeno and I really do hope that things aren't going to take a bad turn for me moodwise.  I often experience low and anxiety and these two symptoms are the most troublesome.  I really envy wonen who don't get them.

It's the shock, the stupid naivety, the ignorance on my part that by 72 years of age it should be all over with. Nobody told me it would be the beginning of a chronic condition called Virginal Atrophy.
Still very angry about it all but so glad my doctors have been brilliant.

Let's hope that Emma (or someone from MM) officially acknowledges that this is being taken seriously as an idea, & that it would be beneficial to many of us older members (old & new).

I am still on HRT & still have menopausal issues but different ones. but I am still diagnosed at post menopausal  :-X. OK maybe they are more to do with old age (64), things like Lichen sclerosus & V.A., anxiety, weight gain, lack of libido & enthusiasm for every day things, tiredness but still having to work till I'm 66 to get a state pension..... don't get me started on that issue  >:( >:(

Hoping that this will be taken seriously & will take off & hopefully get a dedicated board that is made a sticky like some others have done but are very rarely posted on. ::)

Love Cazikins xx

I agree, Cazikins. Threads fall off pages so quickly and then lose momentum for which there was a fantastic interest and hope. I feel I have let the forum down. Sorry, everyone.
