Get DH to reform his CV in different ways, playing to his strengths and knowledge in the various areas where he would be interested in working. Would he be prepared to take a drop in salary in order to be doing what he really wants to get his teeth into, or would he play it safe?
Consider the travelling costs too. Would he qualify for a company vehicle? Here in the UK a Company is obliged to give employees notice of potential reduancy and they have to work with them for 3 months prior to being made redundant. Companies have to liaise with outside orgnasiations to give the best advice to each person depending on their skill base.
If he needs to work but a job isn't forthcoming, are there volunteering opportunities? These often lead to salaried work here in the UK. Would he like a holiday until the New Year and reconsider his work needs: part or full time for example?
