Exercise
« on: October 15, 2021, 06:26:57 PM »

Has a had to change their HRT due to going to the gym and the extra exercise increasing or decreasing hormones?
I’m on 3 pumps of Estrogel conti utrogestan (100 vaginally) and a small amount of testosterone every other day. Which has been great on the whole, But since starting the gym my moods have gone really erratic and the fatigue is really getting to me and I know it’s not just gym related.
I read somewhere that exercise increases Estrogen and somewhere else that it decreases it

Trying to balance hormones In itself is exhausting

Interestingly I started the gym and walking 10k steps a day a month ago. I normally have levels of about 700. But I had to increase my patch as my test showed my levels were down to 400. I’m in surgical menopause so no fluctuations normally pretty consistent.

Hi I posted the same question last week but unfortunately no replies! Some of my symptoms have returned since starting to exercise and I also wondered if I needed to increase my gel? My review is not for another 7 weeks and although I’ve been told to keep to it until then I wasn’t exercising then! Hopefully someone will be able to advice!

Hi! I had exactly the same question some weeks ago and I posted it here too.

I feel like my oestrogen is decreasing after exercise, especially if I go to gym (not so much after lower intensity aerobic exercise). I've been wondering if the exercise impacts the way I metabolise oestrogen as I cannot find another reason for this. I'm on HRT and keeping dose stable.

I'll follow this thread with interest if someone will come along with more information on this, and if there is any research on the topic.

I’ve emailed my specialist to see if she can enlighten us! I can’t find any information about it! I’m happy to increase if I have to! Will keep you posted!

Thank you all, obviously something going on by the sounds of it. Frustrating that when it comes to hormones one study says one thing and another says something else it’s so frustrating

Could it be, and this is just a guess, that losing weight has a knock on effect? Thinner people have less oestrogen stored as they have less body fat. So if you lose weight you might need more hrt?!?
