Menopause round two
« on: October 03, 2021, 12:38:13 PM »

Hi all
I'm 58 and began meno at 50 but started peri 2 yrs before.

In past few months my hot flushes/ sweats & tiredness have been ramping up again. Symptoms hadn't gone away just a little calmer but now feel back to beginning. :-\

Before I go back to GP, has anyone else found this? Can it be stress related?

Thanks

Hi! have U been offered any form of HRT?  What are your periods actually doing?  Perimenopause can last 10+ years B4 the menopause - literally last monthly period: but it may take 2 years B4 we realise they have stopped  ::)

MayB keep a mood/food/symptom diary to chart progress, it gives U something to discuss with your Practice Nurse.  Which symptom would you like to ease first?

Browse round. Make notes ..........

Thanks for reply.

My periods stopped when I was 50 and I did hrt for 18mths.But stopped due to family history. May look into it again though.
Thanks for the other tips, will do that  :)

Smaller amounts of oestrogen are produced by the adrenal glands and fat cells and these can continue to fall after meno. No reason you can't start hrt again, if your gp won't play ball ask for a referral to a menopause clinic. Obviously there are many other possible causes of fatigue.
