Hi, I was hoping to find out how often people get their HRT. I’m wondering whether I may be better getting an annual pre paid prescription certificate.
I have 3 sprays of Lenzetto, utrogstan amd have now been prescribed testogel.

Ask at your GP Surgery? I had a pre-paid cert which covered everything requied: regularly ADs and anti-anxiety meds., now I'm over 60 it's free ;-).

My gp prescribed HRT patches every 6 months

My GP said she could do a repeat for every 2 months but I wonder if that’s a regional thing or National l. Seems a bit unfair if some people have to pay for 2 prescription charges every 2 months and some people 6 months 🤔

I get 3 months at a time… 2 prescriptions - Oestrogel and Utrogestan.

I only get 2 months at a time. Sure my practice wouldn't allowe any more

In fact my last prescription for femsevern conti patches was for 48 patches which is 48 weeks! I think it was a mistake!
However they never stay on a whole week so won’t last that long.

I'm lucky that I get 6 months of HRT and vagifem. I still get a prepayment becaus of additional meds. Did people know they have consulted about changing the free prescription age to pension age eg 67 for me?

It’s definitely varied in prescription allowances. I’ll be getting a prepaid annual prescription from now on. Thanks all xx

Yes I read about charging for prescription up to pension age. There is a lot of opposition. Seems unfair when in Wales and Scotland everyone gets free prescriptions. There is pressure for her prescriptions to be made free and has a reading or something in parliament soon so that's hopeful.
