Hi,
I’m starting this as a new discussion as I’m quite desperate for some answers and not getting many responses, I wondered if there was a doctor who accesses this site?

Please please help, I  been laying in bed all morning researching and googling due to stomach cramping and Very Heavy Bleeding which appears to be getting worse with each passing moment 🥲🥲I’m now changing every 1/2 and hour and bleeding into the toilet before even removing my tampon which is then covered in very dark slithers/clots.

This has been happening for a week now since I started on Evorel 75 and 100mg Ultrogestan. As mentioned, it’s getting heavier and more frequent with each passing hour .
I just read an article on netdocotor.co.uk which mentioned that the Doctor should be aware when taking Ultrogestan if you have fibroids, which I do and they are?

Please could someone give me some advice as I feel I can’t even leave the house at the moment due to being so heavy and in pain. I can’t call the Doctor on a Subday and I’m worried 🥲🥲😩

You could try writing to Dr. Currie who champions the site. There's a charge, but is well worth it if you can. Just press "Contact" at the top on the black menu band. You won't hear from her till tomorrow at least, but sometimes just making a step where knowledgeable help can be found and putting it "somewhere else" can take some pressure away. I'm so sorry this is happening to you. Sounds awful. Good luck!

Can you not go to A&E
Maybe they could give you somthing to stop the bleeding ?
How long as it been since your last period ?

I know in peri they say our periods change and can become lighter or heavier

How do you feel in yourself apart from the worrying

I would if you are worried maybe call
111 if your in U.K. and get some advice

I experienced heavy periods like this before during Periods but then have net had a period since Feb 21 and Oct 20, so thought I was beyond that?

This has come on since changing HRT last Saturday, but as mentioned is getting worse and worse. I think I may call NHS direct as it can’t be right to be housebound and be so heavy??

I would make that call. The charge is £30.

Call 111 or go to a+e. They should give you something to stop the bleeding. I had this when I first started evorel 75. Every two weeks. Awful.

Hi, I’ve just called 111 and waiting for a call back.
Out of interest NAS, what was your outcome? Did you stay in Evorel 75/Ultrogestan? Did the bleeding stop eventually? How long did it take?

Well, I kept coming off the evorel during bleeds as I swore I couldn’t face another bleed. But then  symptoms would return, so the patch would be put back on again! Totally messed with my body.

As it happens, I’m not absorbing much of the 75 anymore now and wondering what to do next.

The intermittent bleeding stopped in June and I started the patch a year ago.it was at least 4 months on the patch before the bleeding began.

Anyway, I hope you get sorted today.

I hope you get your call back soon & I hope they give you something to help with the bleed
Could it be because you haven’t had a period in so long & that’s why it’s heavier
But I see Nas as also had problems with bleeds on same patch.

I do truly hope you get a call back soon & I hope they can advise you or give you something to help slow down the bleeding

Thankyou both very much. I’m still waiting for 111 to call back, they said an hour but they’re obviously busy. Trouble is I darent use my phone incase I miss their call.
The bleeding has calmed a bit now so feel like a bit of a fraud ☺️But then I also do need to get this sorted.

If anyone else reads this thread and has the same issue, how long did it take to settle? Or did you come off Evorel/Ultrogestan?
Nas, I know you said you had the same issue, did GP offer an alternative?
I didn’t have this issue as bad when in the 50 combo??

So…… I’ve just had a call back from 111 to apologise for the delay but to apologise also that there was still no clinician available to talk to me.
I said that I would call my Gp in the morning now!

Feel like I’m banging my head against a brick wall as I know it will take an hour to get through to my GP (as it always does), which is difficult when trying to work, but alas there is no other option.

I think I just want a magic wand which I know doesn’t exist with HRT.

This is why I joined this site to a least be able to chat/vent to others in the same boat.

Oh sorry your no better off sweaty
But if it becomes worse then take your self to A&E and let them give you something to help.

Hrt is a magic pill for some, they find the perfect regime first time around and never look back .. and others suffer for years before eventually finding their magic pill
It’s a rollercoaster ride & unfortunately we have no choice than to ride it

I hope your bleed doesn’t cause you too much bother , but if it does go straight to A&E

Other than that , I hope you get through to your doctor early in the morning ( good luck with that )
We do a online request and then get a call back when available.. which sometimes can be same day

Sweaty, I’m under a specialist but she did say I could either double the utrogestan to 200mg or switch to norethistone to see if that helps with bleeding. 

It’s very much a rollercoaster unfortunately as Michelle said. Some strike lucky first time whilst other poor souls have to struggle on for ever before striking a balance.

Thankyou both so much, it’s just makes you feel a bit better knowing your not alone going through it. And as you say some just Hit gold first time with HRT and I guess for others we don’t 🥲this is my fourth different lot of HRT but is definitely the worse with regards to side effects. I feel so tearful too which I didn’t before.

I’m so worried that my GP will say there’s nothing more they can do for me , which is what they said last time and then my referral to a specialist came through for February. I certainly would’ve able to tolerate this bleeding until then 😒so fingers crossed they can help me tomorrow 🤞.
I’ll update this thread as it may help others too experiencing very heavy bleeding/losing clots with Evorel 75/Ultrogestan combination.
