difference between estrogel and estradot
« on: September 06, 2021, 09:32:52 AM »

Hello,

could anyone explain the difference in make-up/chemistry between estrogel and estradot
i've looked online but am unclear.
my private gynae consultant did state that where estrogel is natural, estradot is synthetic.
at least i think that's what she said! she might have said estrogel bioidentical whereas estradot not
or is that one and the same thing??
when i look online i find that estradot is described as bioidentical too, so i'm confused but i know my gynae said there was some fundamental difference

thanks :)

hi as far as I know, both estradot and oestrogel are body identical. They both contain a natural oestrogen. The only difference is that one is a gel and one is a patch. They re both transdermal oestrogen. x

Agree with Dotty & had just answered this (with a link) where you raised it on your other thread!

Posting here, for any future readers, both the links I put in reply to same question on your other thread.  The 2nd link shows the range of oestrogen replacement products (tablets, patches, gel & spray) classed as body identical.
