Hey Nas,

hope you're ok this morning.
Really good to see that you have a plan- i see such positive things said about mirtazapine- it'll no doubt give you some breathing space
know what you mean about meeting in real life- i think about setting up a perimeno/menopause meetup group when i feel a bit better- just somewhere to have a coffee and a chat, knowing that others there get you!
there are "menopause cafe" events around the country- great idea- but these don't happen in many areas and have speakers/experts as part of the set up so require a bit of thought
in the absence of a perfect medical magic bullet for menopause, i do think connection with others in a similar situation is hugely important- even if you're just chatting rubbish!
i actually opened up to a friend on the phone yesterday- found myself crying; just came over me!- after feeling a bit embarrassed i'm now really glad that happened. she was the right person to open up to- even though she's not troubled by all this herself she was exceptionally understanding and now i don't feel like i have to pretend or explain myself if i don't manage to see her or am below par- it's a nice feeling (should have cried on her years ago!!)
anyway that's my two-penneth! of course i haven't followed my own advice re socialising and have instead hidden away from people for the last few years!! i'm naturaly a bit of an intorvert but i was basically a hermit- not good.
you're doing really well to hold down a job- hopefully it will soon become much easier for you.
take care xx

Hi vintagefiend
Meet up group would be lovely, but of course people live all over the place, maybe a zoom meeting would be a good start.
So many of us suffering it really is difficult

Hi karine,
Yes my last period was over three years ago now, so definitely post menopausal.

You are absolutely right, trying to work is extremely tough.

My job isn’t the most demanding yet can be mentally tiring at times. People have no idea what torture some nights are and aren’t likely too either.

I really need a better paid job but can’t move forward until I’m in a better place mentally and physically.

Vintage, I’m glad you were able to open up to your friend, sometimes you just need to off load and admit that things are not okay.

I am a bit of a hermit too, don’t do big groups or loud people!

I have high hopes for the mirtazapine, if it allows me to get some sleep, then I may be able to move forward a bit in life. I really do need a better paid job but at end moment, can’t even face applying for anything! I do feel a bit bitter that menopause is taking so much yet wouldn’t be acknowledged in many work places I’m sure.

Ah well, onwards and upwards I guess x

Hey Michelle
I’m okay thanks, had quite a busy day and don’t feel too wretched.

I put my patch back on Sunday after my god awful day and immediately my mood started to lift a little. Then yesterday, I added half a sachet of gel to my arm and I felt my mood lift again.

Today I did the same, applied half a sachet of gel and had quite a good day mood wise. I felt clearer in my head and was able to focus better.

So, maybe I just need more Oestrogen. The question is what combination! And I don’t know how long this happy mood is going to last. I could wake
up to tomorrow feeling wretched again!

For now it’s 75 patch and a blob of sandrena. It would be good to use just one product but the 100 patch is a big fat no! I’ve got a box of sandrena from an old prescription, so going to use that up and see where I get to.

Talk about trial and error!

How are you doing ? Xx

Hi Nas
I’m glad your mood as lifted and long May it continue :)
If this works for you then that’s a good thing .. I hope you have more better days
It’s all about finding what’s good and what’s not and as you know can take forever to get there but in the meantime you keep using what works for you

I’m ok this end , even better knowing you have had a better day :)
