Hello!
I'm new here but not new to the menopause! 58 years old and 4.5 years since last period I went to a specialist menopause consultant privately who is NHS registered too and have been thrown back into excessive night sweats again! My symptoms on consultation were insomnia, I hadn't slept properly for years, mood a bit scratchy and aching joints, no sweats really to report of. Consultant prescribed Utrogestan 100mg 1 x daily, Estradiol 0.6% gel 2 pumps daily. On day 3 of medication my symptoms when through the roof, excessive sweating through the night of which I had NEVER experienced before. Being post menopausal it seemed as though I had gone back a few years and was now menopausal/perimenopausal, if that makes sense? On contacting the doctor, she made no attempt to help and it took her 6 days to come back to me just saying what I had done was ok, not particularly good patient care. So from all your comments and some research I increased my pumps to 3, this had an immediate lessening on the sweats. However, I am still experiencing some sweats, so what I'd be interested in hearing is, is this a common reaction? Am I still out of balance? I've tried doing day and night but now gone back to morning application as my mood seemed better. Any comments greatly received, thanks.
