Ugh…. Utrogestan related insomnia - any cure?
« on: September 11, 2021, 04:35:40 AM »

It’s 4:30am and again I am awake. It’s always a few days in from taking my utrogestan 200mg. Current regime is 2 pumps oestrogel everyday. 200mg utrogestan 14 days. And 0.5 androfemme daily.

I’m not good with poor sleep. I have 5 year old twins. I’m also a runner which is undoubtedly the best peri menopause medicine I have found. But with reduced sleep, that goes out the window.

Insomnia is a deal breaker for me. Anyone managed to overcome it?

Thanks in advance

Awh Floodlights that’s a shame!

I actually find my sleep is much better on the Utrogestan than without it, although it is full of dreams.

Maybe other ladies will have suggestions to make to help?

I empathise with the insomnia and it must be awful with having such wee ones to look after.

Take care

Floodlights do you take the Utro orally? And if so could switching to vaginally as a pessary be an option? I believe less gets systemically absorbed that way. There are a handful of ladies I've seen on here over the months that have said Utro also causes them sleep problems, hopefully one of them will be along soon xx

Thanks both. I take 200mg vaginally for 14 days. My next prescription is a switch to the suppositories so there could perhaps be some hope there xx
