Clots
« on: August 31, 2021, 07:59:41 PM »

Hi all,
I've been in peri for about 6 years and really hitting a crescendo with it. I've come on today and the clots are coming thick and fast. Is this normal for peri? I actually have a pelvic ultrasound tomorrow so ita good timing but thought I would ask here too.
Thanks.

Yes, everything from clots to pale thin blood . Good you're having a scan, it should put your mind at rest. Presumably you've been using adequate progesterone if you're on hrt (can't remember if you are).

No I'm not, I have high blood pressure so they want to wait a bit 🙄
I was trying to find out if any of the doctors specialised in it but thats also hot a bit of a dead end.

Although clots feel horrible when they are passed my doctor told me that they are a good thing as it shows that your clotting mechanism is working and you are not haemorrhaging! I tried to find some comfort in this  ;D

Just an update, although I've started a post further up.
I have 3 fibroids, biggest one is 4cm.

Hi,
I’m really empathise, it’s scary when you start losing clots (you feel like you are losing your insides!) I too had this for about 1 year during peri time the point where Inhad to leave work several times due to flooding , even after using double protection and visiting the toilet every 1/2 hour. I have fibroids but they are not big enough to remove, so only the specialist will advise this. The Mirena coil really helped with this but after 7 years with the coil the clots retuned.
I have now had this removed, but the clots have recently returned after starting Evorel 75 and Ultrogestan 100mg. I had to leave a restaurant last night due to flooding 😩very embarrassing.
I would ask about the Mirena coil , hope this helps and re-assures you x
