Curious about what your practitioner said about taking DIM; how long was it advised? Did you take monthly breaks? I’ve been on it for a few months now and really like it but I’d love to hear what guidance you got for taking it.

My practitioner only permits me taking it for shorter periods at a time.  I think the longest that I have been on continuously is 3 months.  There has always been a caution about taking it for longer as I dont think there are enough studies to support taking it longer term which I think makes them a little nervous about it being used longer than that.  What has your practitioner advised?

No practitioner had advised me. I came across it somewhere, maybe in this forum?

I do! My belly bloat is gone and I poop better. Mood swings have decreased.

Hi realised I didn’t reply to the following:

Hey Scampidoodle

How have you managed your symptoms or have you just kept on trying other oestrogen based hrt products?  I tried more progesterone myself also - it didnt take the edge off and I just felt so bad and consumed with pain that painkillers werent touching

I didn’t go back on oestrogen after trying oestrogel made me feel ten times worse. I piled on weight, got palpitations, hot flushes, anxious jittery feelings. Meno specialist advised me to increase and it made me v ill and I came off. I’m in early peri and just got a Mirena coil and amazingly I feel like it’s balanced things nicely and I feel so much better. I really do think I either didn’t have enough P or I had too much E. I’ll see how I go with this and maybe try Dim or progesterone cream if things don’t continue as they are.

I imagine I’ll get to a point some day I may need E but it’ll be the smallest dose I can find. X

Hi I don't know if you are on progesterone it might be worth a go?.  I was told as I no longer have a uterus I don't need progesterone but found I had to go on both progesterone and estrogen and find a balance with both to be able to take the estrogen without allergic type side effects.  Now I'm on estrogen 75 patch with progesterone every 2nd day or whenever needed so I can take the estrogen.  I think of HRT as being on epilepsy medication - there's never a right balance just a bit of tweaking to get it right and trying different things until you get the right mix which works for a while then you need to change it around a little to balance things.  Good luck.
