Hello All,
I am new here, having taken a sudden and slightly traumatic dive into deeper perimenopause in Jan. 2021. Had various milder peri symptoms for about 4 years prior but now have symptoms with a vengeance! Have seen a menopause specialist and tried a low dose of HRT (half patch Everol Sequi) but my reaction was, as specialist described, 'dramatic' with all-night tremors. Guess my own cycle, still present, was trying to fight alongside. Periods are very scant and estrogen/prog on very low end of normal.
Am now taking agnus castus via qualified herbal practitioner, which does seem to be helping to regulate things a bit - early days yet.
However, this is my question:
straight after my period ends, when I assume estrogen is rising, I have incredible jitters and shakes across my whole body that keep me up almost all night for 2 or 3 nights. It is horrible (as many of you will know). I think I am maybe hyper sensitive to the roller coaster nature of estrogen. Have any of you experienced this to this extent and, importantly, how long did it last (months, years??)? Does anything help?
I am 50 so probably not miles away from actual menopause. But the journey is wearing me down. Otherwise very healthy, take all the required supplements, exercise, control stress as much as possible, eat properly, etc, etc.
Thanks for listening! X
