Endometriosis and combined HRT Kliovance pill
« on: June 05, 2021, 10:27:48 AM »

Hi there. I’ve searched and searched this forum and my head is getting confused, which isn’t hard!!  My GP has agreed to give me HRT. I asked for the gel rather than tablets but she’s advised due to my endometriosis I need a combined tablet?  Problem is I’ve read that the separate HRT is better?  I’ll never question a doctor but she isn’t a specialist. I’m 51 live in Scotland and not had a period for 18 months (24hr light spotting in January). That’s been checked out and everything is okay.

My main symptoms are anxiety, terrible paranoia, withdrawing from friends, night sweats and terrible exhaustion from late afternoon onwards.

I’ve managed to loose some weight and lift weights 4 times a week so I try to take care of myself.

Any help please. Should I go private?  Will the combined HRT (unsure which one she has gave me yet) make me put on weight?  I’m sure DR Newson on one of her Instagram videos said that the synthetic HRT can make you put on weight.

Sorry for rambling just don’t feel confident in what she’s gave me

There are several types of progestogen that can be taken separately so it does not need to be a combined pill as such as belle1 said. As well as utrogestan (which is body/bio-identical progesterone) there is Provera (taken continuously)  or a Mirena coil with which you then take oestrogen - which coud be a tablet or as belle1 suggests - patch or gel.

Thank you.  When I asked her she said that Kliovance is the only one I can get - maybe its a Scotland thing?

I am reluctant to take synthetic would rather go as natural as possible.

Not too sure what to do here.
