Which symptom would you like to ease first?

Do read the 'bladder issues' and 'vaginal atrophy' threads - make notes  ;)

Low VitD levels can cause fatigue, as can thyroid function problems.  Are you getting treatment for the osteopenia?

Age is no longer a barrier. If your gp is unhelpful ask for a referral to a menopause clinic. As above, there are many causes of fatigue so hrt may or may not help with it.

Hi Seidbh, I put up with horrible hot flushes for over 10 years...I finally went to a menopause clinic in September 2019 (referred by my Gp) and started on HRT at age 63.

Have been on it for over 18 months now, still struggling to find the right regime as it is all trial and error, but oestrogen appears to be the only thing that gets rid of the horrible flushes if you are one of the unlucky ones like me!!

I'm on a conti regime of Estradot 50 and Utrogestan 100mg orally daily as I don't want a bleed. Tried the FemSeven conti patch as recommended by my meno specialist but they irritated my skin unfortunately, very itchy and left red rings that lasted ages. I am also on Vagifem every other night for VA.

If your Gp is one of the rubbish ones (and there appear to be a lot!!) ask to be referred to your nearest NHS menopause clinic where you will get help. The clinic will issue a prescription and send it to your Gp to put on repeat prescriptions so you won't have to pay anything.

Good luck! x
