Waiting to speak with my gynae and just trying to gather information. I know that Louise Newson talks about younger women needing a higher dose and I just wondered what that's likely to be / what's the highest dose you can have? I have the Lenzetto spray - am I right in thinking the max dose of it is three sprays?

Hi Gilla999,

A lot depends on how well you absorb transdermal, I don’t absorb well at all. It varies so much and some of us need high dose.

Menopause specialist can prescribe higher doses off license.

The dose you need is the minimum that controls your symptoms. Too much can be as bad as too little and bear in mind that some symptoms can take 3 months to go.

Hi Gilla999, I don't know anything about Lenzetto, as Floo36 & sheila99 doses vary according to symptoms and it is very individual. I'm aged 43yr have had symptoms for approx 8yrs, started on HRT 2 years ago on lowest dose, gradually increased to my current prescription which is 100mcg estraderm patch and provera 10mg, started on vagifem very recently (as suggested by meno consultant). I've been on the 100mxg for approx 6 months now and feel 'stable' a remarkable improvement in my symptoms all round. However it is also worth looking at lifestyle changes which may help alongside the Lenzetto. x

This is what makes sense to me - if im on 100mg patch but absorb less and absorb the same in 2x100mg patches as one person does with say a 75mg patch then is the risks the same? My specialist won't give me higher does than 100mg patch cos of the risks but what if I just don't absorb. 😩

Yeah it looks that way 3 sprays and each spray is equal to 50mg patch. Please let us know how oyu get on with the spray as Id be interested is using instead of a patch. I know when I had a consultation with them they said some ladies had 3 patches or one 100mg patch and top up with gel. they do try to go off symptoms. I struggle with this , one as I like to have numbers - its the scientist in me haha but really as sometimes I have no idea if it is a symptom! or if its a symptom of low estrogen. The hot flushes are like a big red beacon(for most) in that they usually low estrogen and usually go first when using HRT. But like my anxiety - I question all the time if its me or my hormones! Or both! 😂 x

I've been on two sprays of Lenzetto for two weeks now - doing very well so far, however it is the "good" time in my cycle so no idea what will happen in the next few weeks.

If I don't feel two sprays is enough I intend to top up with gel until i'm not symptomatic, although I know you need to give each new dose a decent while before deciding that.
Lenzetto is just so convenient - it dries in 30 seconds and you don't have to worry about your hands absorbing most of it etc - and I couldn't get on with the patch.
