Hi there - I have had bladder and vaginal issues now for 4 years. I have seen many doctors over that time and am currently on vagifem 3x week and oral estrogen daily. These have greatly helped with the bladder pain but lately it has crept back up to an undesirable level! I take narcotics to help me sleep and I hate that, am not usually a pill popper. Also take a mild anti depression tablet for pain and over active bladder pill.

I am 61 years young and getting very frustrated with the 24/7 bladder pain. I was wondering if anyone has tried an osteopath or acupuncture doctor for any type of relief? My pelvic physio therapist tells me that the vertical scars from 2 C sections could be the factor for my pelvic pain?

Any help or knowledge would be greatly appreciated....... stay safe.

Up the 'vagifem' to nightly.  Take pain relief.  Some find that they require occasional two 'vagifem' interminttely: 1 x 2 with a few hours between, or 2 at the same time.

Acupuncture uses needles in different places, supposedly as there are certain pressure points which affect various areas of the body  .  Didn't do anything 4 my loss of libedo!

If the abdominal pain originates from the scars, myofascial release might be a better option than acupuncture. Either a physiotherapist or osteopath might use this technique. I think the idea is to ease up any adhesions.

I have spent money on acupuncture a few times and it's done nothing.  Maybe local hey is a good option.

Hi Jane. Have you had your bladder scanned and a cystoscopy recently to check for any physical abnormalities?

I have had some success with bladder/urethral pain (assuming negative test for infection) over the years with a chiropractor and latterly an osteopath. There is a nerve which runs from the sacrum to the pelvic floor and can cause all sorts of random pain. It has worked like magic in the last 10-15 yrs but never fully resolves, but I guess that's the nature of 'aches and pains'!

My Osteo first practiced in Canada where they are more progressive in attitudes I hear!

Thank You for all the wonderful replies! I have since seem my gyno who specializes in menopause and he says my vulva looked a bit raw! I now use estrogen cream nightly externally.....

CKLD. I did do a 2 week reload on the vagifem has not touched the burning??😩

Joaniepat  yes my physiotherapist is always mentioning the myofascial release but says an osteopath woukd know more than her.... she has had a little training but not as much as a real osteopath. I am going to make an appt with one I think.

Yes when this all started 4 years ago I saw a lot of specialists, had a cystocopy, had CT scan etc..... was told not IC but Bad VA, so was put on the vagifem and then later the HRT, have also tried DHEA which seemed to work for awhile? Can’t really remember why I stopped maybe the price not covered in 🇨🇦 Also had many pelvic ultrasounds which showed no abnormalities.

Iris67. Yes I am going to make an appt with an osteopath who apparently works at a naturopath who specializes in womens pelvic pain, osteopath is covered but nit the naturopath but at this point I am willing to pay for any relief.

Just to add up until about 6 weeks ago I was ok (I call it my new normal) then poof the burning and more bladder pain came on, lots of stress in my life so I am sure this does not help, again thanks for all your wonderful suggestions and god bless💕

P.S. my parents from the UK I absolutely love it over there......
