Menopause clinic
« on: March 02, 2021, 01:27:47 PM »

Not been on for a long time but just wondering if anyone has been referred to meanwood menopause clinic in leeds. Dr Clare Spencer takes referrals from GP. Have been to.Julie aryes in past but wasn't keen. My own doctors not wanting to prescribe vagifem and ovestin together even tho been using both for nearly for 4  years and getting fed up with telling them i need both. Really hate the aplicator with ovestin. Find it difficult to insert. Thanks

MayB use the 'vagifem' internally and 'ovestin' on the outer areas.  Gently applied eases any dryness inside and out.

As for your GP, ask for a referral to a menopause Clinic.  Perhaps ring your local Hospitals to see if there are any NHS clinics ?

Ask the Surgeries Practice Manager which bit of NICE information don't the GPs understand, that many ladies require both.  It mayB that the GP is simply watching costs or more likely has no idea about how HRT is prescribed!

Let us know how you get on.

Thanks i am at the moment doing that but it's just every time I tell the docs i need both to keep it all ok I have a bit of a battle with them unfortunately. I did see Julie aryes  at a menopause clinic but she did not agree to using both. Think my doctors are not so much up to date with things. I do keep reading things on here which I find so useful because would no nothing for my doctors sadly.

I wonder why a 'specialist' wouldn't agree to using both products when it is well known that ladies often require both, sometimes nightly .......

It shouldn't be hard work  :bang: :bang: :bang:  ::)

Hi Shelley65

I saw her for my progesterone intolerance.  Even though we weren’t able to resolve it I found her supportive.

Hope this helps x
