Losing my mind?!
« on: March 01, 2021, 08:11:17 PM »

So today I put the compost in the recycling bin-didn’t realise at time until husband pointed out later! I feel so stupid and worried I have early onset dementia!! I know brain fog / Inattention are often symptoms. Is this the kind of think others experience?

I think this is part of it. Saturday I put the butter in the cupboard  and a few weeks ago I started tipping water in the bin instead of down the sink.

I’m also apparently frequently repeating myself and not remembering things.

I think it is part and parcel of this “joyous” time of life!

Definitely par for the course,I've started to get angry at myself now as of late I'm doing really ridiculous things, say I'm in one room,I'll think..... must take those toiletries up to the bathroom,I'll turn to put something away, then walk right past said toiletries, just in like 5 seconds,it's infuriating  >:(

Yep.  As we get older we have more to think about: chores, aches and pains, elderly parents, grandkids ......... all takes up space!  I am a great list maker ;-)

I had a bit of that going on in 2019 which was a terribly stressful year for many different reasons, but I still think it was my hormones that was causing it.  It was just made worse by the events.  2020, despite being a rubbish year for us all I found all this improved, I started evorel sequi at the end of 2019.  I'm not saying hrt is the only solution though, there are many herbal and nutritional approaches to supplement the body with natural oestrogens as well, it's whatever works for the individual, but at this time of life its about finding our balance again I think and then those things should improve.  But either way, I don't think it's the start of dementia, I did worry about that too, but too many women report it at this time and then seem to rebalance later and most don't develop dementia.

I walked into the airing cupboard to have a shower the other day, but I'm also a law lecturer so it must be an intermittent meno thing - or the students are VERY understanding and polite!
