1 week in on HRT patches for Osteoporosis
« on: February 14, 2021, 05:25:00 PM »

So I have just completed my fist week on Everel Conti. Its 50mg Estradiol & 11.2 Norethisterone. Is this the correct patch for Osteoporosis?? ( don't have any faith in GP) :(

Mid week I had really bad stomach cramping and it hurt for 2 or 3 days when I had a wee. (Like a strong period pain)
Since then, nothing....all good...... this may be a stupid question but is that how it should be? Do I just forget it now & hope it is protecting my bones?

I have Osteoporosis and am on Evorel Conti. I've not heard anything to suggest that it's not appropriate for Osteoporosis.

Might be best to give it a bit longer to give things chance to settle down.

It's a good to start on. Evorel is the 'go to' hrt at my surgery. Can't remember if you have any meno symptoms? If you don't then feeling nothing is good.

I've just started the same 2 weeks ago for osteopenia

Only real side effect is a tender bloated tummy, which I've had on and off.
It seems worse on the day I out a new patch on

I'm 6 years post menopause age 50
If I didn't do anything I believe I'd be in osteoporosis  range in about 5 years in my spine

Not had the bloated tummy :)

Are you doing your weight bearing exercises? I've gone from just doing walking to pilates & aerobics weekly. I have decided to throw everything at it for 3 years and see if it makes a difference. Calcium, vitamin D & boron all increased.

Hi Stockport1965,

yes, Evorel Conti is licensed for use in women for whom osteoporosis is a concern  :)

If you have a look at the PIL it says . . .

"What Evorel Conti is used for

Evorel Conti is used:

For the symptoms of the menopause (see ‘What is the menopause?’). It is suitable for women who have not had a period (menstrual bleed) for at least 18 months
To prevent osteoporosis (fragile bones) in women who have had the menopause and are most likely to have bone problems. . ."
