Slight brown discharge
« on: January 27, 2021, 12:52:41 PM »

Hi Ladies,

Wondering if I can ask some advice please.

I have been using Vagifem since November. I’m still very dry and sore and weeing a lot.  I’ve gone into panic mode as I had a slight bit of brown discharge on the toilet paper on 2 separate occasions.
It was just on the paper nothing has come out into my underwear and it disappeared as quickly as it came.

I’ve got a phone call with the doctor next week but just wanted to know if this is part of VA and if anyone else has had this?        Thanks ladies

MayB use the 'vagifem' nightly for 2-3 weeks.  For the need to pee, I take 'nurofen' - 2 capsules 3 times a day for 3 days.  A brown discharge may be old blood due to small tears in the vagina.  Make a list to chat with your GP about.

Thanks for replying.

I’m actually in quite a panic today. This happened again yesterday not very much at all really but health anxiety has kicked in now.

Always going to worst case. Will see what doctor says next week. I need to calm down.

Could it be from your bottom rather than the vaginal area.  Put lots of lubricant up there as well.  Some ladies occasionally need two doses of 'vagifem'.

It’s definitely from the front and not back.

Just have to wait it out I suppose. I’m stinging today.

Get some 'vagifem' in there now.  Another dose this evening.  Do you have KY Jelly or similar to apply now.  Get some 'nurofen' down you.

Are you using a vaginal moisturiser? Maybe you are too dry for it to dissolve properly. The blood may be from an abrasion caused by the applicator going into a dry vagina. Use a moisturiser inside (Yes and Sylk are reputable brands), and also apply some to the applicator before insertion. On the other hand, you can also ask your GP for Ovestin as it's a cream.

I’ve been using yes but it doesn’t seem to have helped much.

It’s very stingy on the inside bits and feels very dry.  It’s just this bit  of brown discharge that has worried me, I’m a real worrier me.  I definitely need something else to sort out this uncomfortable feeling
Thank you x

MayB you are putting the 'vagifem' too high, initially inserting slightly into the vagina for a week then higher up ......... twice a day occasionally.

Ok I will try that.  Also it just came to me that when I had a scan about 2 yrs ago I apparently have a fibroid. Is the Vagifem still safe to use do you know? Thought about that and started worrying again . Thank you so much. X

Yep.  It is important to get comfortable as quickly as possible and remain comfy.
