Hi I would like you to know these are some of my worst symptoms. I have tingling in my neck and scalp that drives me crazy. But the thing I would like to check is the buzzing in your bits (too much information I know). I have been trying to describe this to my consultant for years. It’s very embarrassing so I don’t talk about it much. I’ve never heard anyone else complain of this. The worst time with this for me is when my estrogen is low. Everyone finds this amusing but it is torture. If you get some answers I would be very grateful if you could share them ❤️

Nothing is too much info.; do you mean the clitoris is active?  Or does it feel like a vibration around the bottom/vagina/thighs .........

My face still feels odd on the left.

It is difficult to describe some of our sensations  :-\.  Probably hormones though.

Hello Donnacrighton,
The buzzing in my bits as I describe it is like a mobile phone on vibrate but only very mildly.
It’s not there all the time, but when I do notice it, I become fixated, like I do with all the other horrible feelings and strange sensations. I hope this helps, I do find it difficult to describe some of the things that I experience, but phone on vibrate seems to sum this one up :o

100% agree with the phone on vibrate, at work I would reach for my pocket to check for an actual vibrating phone numerous times a day, and no CKLD for me its not the clitoris or vulva, it is more the labia and further  ::)  ;D

Hello everyone, I hope you are all well.
I am back on the edge of panic again. The strange feeling in my face has returned.
It’s like tightness in the skin on face and scalp over the top of my head. Also feels like there is something wafting over my face and nose.
Slight burning tongue and tingling lips also returned and all over fizzing feeling. Buzzing legs still there, but no where near as strong as before.
The strange head feeling is not there all the time, but does happen for periods of time nearly every day. Also seems to be when I wear my glasses as if it pressure from the legs (just guessing)
I know I have asked this before, but does this ring any bells with anyone. I am so scared something serious is wrong and I am determined I am not going to google.
If these have been symptoms for others, did they ever stop?
I am almost 4 years post meno, worse symptoms only kicked in about 3 years ago.
The panic feeling only makes things worse.
I only take vagifem and good quality multi vitamin with a collagen for hair and nails.
Any advice will be very welcome.
Thanks for listening to my ongoing moans.

Poor Jillm I feel for you, menopause sucks and having unusual symptoms doesn’t hel
I started going through a problem October last year, headaches, pains in my cheeks, jaw. Comes and goes through out the day. Last for seconds/minutes and always changing places. Some bad days it can be more constant.
I’ve had scans, all clear. Got sent to a ENT specialist and got told I had facial pain syndrome (can’t be common as doctor never hear of it and had to google it up). Got put on amitriptyline 10mg then 20mg. Just got taken of that medicine because it was working well enough. I’m now about to try Pregabalin which is supposed to be a nerve blocker. If that doesn’t work I’ve been told I will need to see a neurologist.

I’m wondering could yours be nerve related and would a neurologist be able to help you? Has your doctor got any ideas? Or could they refer you too another specialist?

Best of luck and I truly think all the weird pains that’s happening to my body is menopausal related, even though no specialist has confirmed this yet.

Thanks Lyncola for your informative reply. I did see a neurologist back last year, who thought I am suffering from silent migraine. At that point the strange feelings were only once in a while, but it has really ramped up in last few months.
I have not mentioned the returning feelings as yet to my doctor.
I am scared too in case they suggest I have some horrible disease😢

It very well could be some horrible disease, but it also could be treatable. And maybe by taking some sort of medication that could help you all get rid it totally.

Just started my new medication tonight and google all the side effects. There’s the normal common ones like dry mouth, making you sleepy etc. and then there’s the nasty ones, like breathing problems, rash, suicidal thoughts and terrible range against some :o. I told my husband if I come up too him with a knife run ;D. Hopefully everything will be okay and this medication will work.

Please see your doctor again explain how it’s worsening the last few months and see if they can do anything to help you

Jillm

Just wanted to say many of your symptoms were the same as mine.  I had strange sort of numb sensations in my legs at times, terrible creepy crawly ****ly sensations in legs which seemed to flare up and lasted what seemed like forever.  I also had burning numb lips and  the sensation of what I described as cobwebs being brushed over my nose.  I went back and forth to the doctors for ages, had MRI (I also had the fear of MS), but everything was clear.  Anxiety was always the diagnosis, never a mention of menopause at all, although I was sent to see a Physio for breathing exercises because I was diagnosed with hyperventilation syndrome, which can also cause these symptoms, and the physio said she had also suffered with tingling through her menopause.   I think these odd symptoms are just not so prominently described as some others.  My symptoms definately improved after menopause, but occasionally I get the ****ly leg thing (which can last for days at a time and still scares me at the time) still almost three years on.  I try to tell myself it's hormones and it does always go away.  If it had been the deadly disease I thought it was I would have been dead by now!  It does annoy me that these symptoms are not recognised by doctors, when HRT could perhaps be prescribed sooner, and our quality of life may have been so much better.  Don't suffer though, you should discuss this with your doctor, tell him your worries, and if an MRI would settle your mind, then ask for one.  Symptoms dont just go away because we stop bleeding, our hormones still play up.  Take care

I would say very much hormones, low and fluctuating Estrogen.  All the weird sensations you mention I have and they come and go along with the fluctuations.  The list of symptoms is getting longer and longer the closer to menopause. The panic attacks are frightening and I never know when the next one will happen or it’s severe mood swings.  My menopause doctor said it gets worse like this towards the end of peri and then should calm down.  Here’s hoping.

Hello Holidaylover and Floo36.

Thanks for your reassuring replies. I have that strange cobweb feeling on the end of my nose right now. This usually then spreads further over my face before disappearing till the next time. The fizzing/buzzing legs have been there for over 2 years. Sometimes I don’t notice it, but when I do it drives me nuts.
I am over 3 years post meno, but other than the odd flush I didn’t really suffer in peri that much. It all kicked off about 5-6 months after what turned out to be my last period.
Anxiety was huge for a while and still hits me now and then. Horrible night time head bombs are not as frequent, but digestion problems still flare up from time to time. I am trying to cut out gluten at the moment to see if that helps. I’ll try anything to be honest.
I hope that as the leg buzzing has decreased that it is hormone related. If it was anything really serious would it not have worsened rather than diminished. The horrible feeling in my face is scary though.
Thanks for listening, just being able to voice my concerns even in text form is a great help❤️

Hormones.  I get the electric head zaps - I'm on medication which is probably the cause.  Enough to make me go 'OH!' then the sensation is gone.

Still strange on the left cheek and eye region.  It doesn't keep me awake.

Digestion can be related to hormonal upheaval too.  Have you been for a walk which can relieve wind? Also peppermint tea apparently helps.  Eat small amounts often.

Me too! and I don't have ovaries so should get a stash stream of hormone (minus progesterone). I have so many different feelings I sometimes cant believe hormones are the problem but then read tases forums and think yeah it can! Anxiety, tingling, aching joints, constipation, tiredness!
I too then worry (MS symptoms etc). So your not alone.

Thank you Kelly.Louise.

I am sorry you seem to be suffering similar symptoms as me. It is rubbish isn’t it?
The neurologist I seen last year was not worried about the strange feeling in my face as he could not see any other warning signs, like balance or speech. I was more worried about the face thing so forgot to mention the ongoing buzzing legs. The fact he was not worried should reassure me, but the not so sensible me thinks they must have missed something or I have under played things to such an extent that they don’t have all the facts.
Take me out and shoot me now🙈😂
