Surplus unused Utrogestan
« on: January 01, 2021, 10:19:18 AM »

I’ve switched from Utrogestan to a Mirena. Consequently I now have two unopened boxes of 100mg Utrogestan, ie, 60 tablets in total, I won’t use.

Is there any ethical/safe way of giving it to someone who could benefit either because they are finding it hard to pay for prescriptions or because their GP is unable to prescribe it even though it would be suitable for them (as is sometimes the case in Scotland)?

It just seems a shame to waste it it but perhaps someone knowledgeable could advise.

Hi

Lovely thought but it should be returned to the pharmacy for safe disposal.  Individual medicine should never be passed on

I suspected this might be the case. Thanks.

I found a charity! But they aren’t taking medications (via GP surgeries)  during Covid. Oh well.
