hrt sequential joint stiffness
« on: December 15, 2020, 01:48:18 PM »

Hi All

I recently started Femoston 1/10 sequential HRT. All was going well until day 21 when I woke up with swollen fingers, pain and stiffness in the joints in my hands (and wrists). My hands are stiff and painful for the last few days. I've to go for a blood test tomorrow and my doc suggested I stop the Femoston to see if it eases.

Just wondering if anybody has ever experienced this? It could be just a coincidence.

Hormones can cause a few upsets.  Did U stop the HRT?

I haven't used femosten, maybe have a look at the information leaflet and see if it's a known risk? I tend to agree with your doctor, I would stop and see what happens. It doesn't have to mean the end of hrt, there are others you can try.

I stopped taking the Femoston on Monday and I already feel better. No mention of joint pain and stiffness in the information leaflet. I'll chat to my doctor about the next steps. Thanks.

Tnx for the update.  Perhaps put the product name into the search box here to see what pops up, it might give an idea as to what ladies decided instead?

At least you have your answer even if you are unique  ;). I would look up which progestogen femosten uses and make sure you try something with a different one next.
