Can you continue to take POP with HRT?My GP doesn’t know the answer !
I’m 49 and was taking Pop for a few months until my night sweats,lethargy and mood swings got the better of me
I was prescribed Utrogestan100mg to take day 15-28.Also prescribed oestrogen pump(2 pumps a day )
The pop stopped my periods and it’s bit of a shock having a reg bleed every month.They’re painful and heavy.
I’m infertile so don’t need contraception but I don’t want reg bleeds
So can I continue with pop plus hrt to stop bleeding ?
Also night sweats are still horrendous.Can I increase the oestrogen?
It’s impossible to speak to gp and when I do they don’t know the answers
Any advice v much appreciated

Hi yes you can take the POP alongside Utrogestan. Many ladies carry on taking it for contraceptive purposes. It may also be worth trying to take Utrogestan every day (100mg) instead of for 2 weeks.  However you may still experience breakthrough bleeding if you are not full post menopause.

You can use up to 4 pumps of oestrogel. But some ladies use more under medical supervision. X
