Progesterone withdrawel?
« on: October 12, 2020, 03:59:44 PM »

Hi Ladies,

Quick question re. progesterone. I was taking continuous HRT (gel x 2 pumps and 1x 100mg Utrogestan daily).  As this didn't seem to be controlling bleeding that well, I emailed the private specialist who had originally prescribed this regime and she agreed it would be worth me trying sequential. I stopped taking the Utro 4 days ago and just taking 2x pumps of gel, I will then be taking 2x mg of Utro for 12 days on 1st November.

So I've actually felt a bit better in myself since stopping the Utro and all seemed to be going fine...until this afternoon where I experienced dizziness and a bad head which was bordering on a migraine, luckily I took tablets straight away but still feeling a bit fuzzy headed.  Does anyone have any experience of stopping the 100mg Utrogestan dose?  I'd been taking this continuously for 18 months so just wondered if this could possibly be my body trying to adjust! Just when I think things are going to get easier, something else seems to crop up and gives me another thing to worry about, getting very boring now haha!

Thanks as always  :)

Thanks for your reply Avalon, good to know I'm not alone with this!

I didn't sleep last night and my head has felt foggy this morning, but the dizziness has eased thank goodness. Am wondering if my body has been so used to having daily progesterone that it's now a bit all over the place now I'm just on the gel. I thought I would feel better without taking the Utro, but not the case at the moment, not looking forward to the 12 days of taking it and the start of November  :( But fingers crossed my body will have adjusted a bit more by then and I will be able to cope okay with the withdrawal!
