I always set a morning aside for my housework and then that's the majority of it done for a week. Do all my hoovering and do the bathrooms, get the floors washed and the dusting done, give the kitchen a once over and then I know I am sorted.
Can't abide a guddle or mess so I tidy as I go and then I get to keep things as I like them.

Yes I'm like that too HB - I will spend a morning or so doing a big clean then just keep things tidy as I go.  I like cleaning but hate anything to do with clothes as in ironing and putting away.  I like the house to be tidy tho - infact I cannot relax until it is - slight OCD me thinks.  My daughter aged 30 and sister aged 40 however tend to live in a permanent mess and do one massive clean when they have to.  Don't understand them :(

Oh heck no, I could not be like that and yes I have OCD tendencies as well I think  ::).
My daughter is very untidy but confines it to her room which is in a loft extension. I just don't go upstairs so I don't see the mess.
I just like to be organised and the house to be tidy. I have always been the same.

It's not behind the furniture with me it's in some of the drawers. Sort of out of sight out of mind drawers  ;D.
I am a bit obsessed with my kitchen being just so, oh and my bathrooms.
My son told me that my ideal bathroom would be one that no one used   ;D

He was so right.

I must be the only person who doesn't really do chores?  Apart from the little stuff like loading and unloading dishwasher, wiping kitchen worktops and sorting laundry.  Last year owing to time spent with Mum hubby and decided that we'd get help with that stuff so I have a lovely cleaning fairy who comes once a week and cleans from top to bottom (much better than I do it) and I take my clean laundry down to our local laundrette who iron it all beautifully so all I have to do is put it away  :)

DH has to shampoo the sofa - he's done the lounge carpet today and sieved home-made compost  :-* and made lunch and tea  :-* :-*

Tomorrow: I must weed our patio, weather allowing
Feed wild birds - order more feed
Go for a hair-cut after lunch
Complete dusting of jugs, Ugly Mugs, vases etc. and surfaces in our lounge
Write a couple of letters, snail mail - will probably end up typing and printing out
Clean a piece of silver intended for a birthday gift and find a box for same

My energy levels are still up and down. If I do too much, then I pay a price. I try to put going out and about over and above housework, but I too have OCD tendencies. If I clean, I have to do it properly, no lick and a promise for me. So often things don't get done at all for ages. Hubby discovered the dish washer and the vacuum cleaner last year. Friends say my house feels clean and comfortable. Hubby asks what will be important on my death bed: getting the housework done or enjoying time with my family, friends and being out and about in the beautiful countryside and singing.

The dust will be there when we are all gone.  ::)

My sister says the trick to not noticing if you need to dust is .....Don't move the ornaments. She has a point.
