Sudden big dip in estrogen...anyone?
« on: August 18, 2020, 09:08:21 AM »

Hia Girls,

The question I have is like most on here....Is this normal? type question.
I've been chugging along ok on my estrogel 3 pumps and utro 12x100 for a year and a half now. Then boom!
Mega day and night sweats(did coincide with the heatwave) some insomnia, and a slippery V area. All symtoms I had just prior to starting hrt.

Whats going on? Why the sudden big drop? is it normal?

The only thing that was different is going from the white cap estrogel to the green cap in this period. I've never noticed a diff between them before. I know it's always debated on here but I haven't had any issues interchanging before. Speaking of periods, I have had none for 3 months.

Any insight would be great.

Hi TD, maybe your own hormones are still playing up?

I also started waking up in the morning with a hot flash/heart racing... also coincided with the heat wave but it's still happening, most mornings. I was on 2 pumps estrogel, and then 3, now I'm trying 4 pumps :( I worry it's too much. Also worry I'm coming up to the 5 year marker in a year - is this definite, that on the NHS they won't continue to prescribe HRT if you have been on it for 5 years?

Hi SandJ, are you still perimenopausal? I don't think there's a 5 year limit for prescribing HRT, I know many women who have been on HRT for up to 10 years.

There’s no reason you can’t continue on HRT for as long as you are healthy to do so! X
