Sigh. I've been researching but I'm getting all befuddled. I've just started taking estrogen gel, a pea size blob of Testogel, and utrogestan which I'm gonna take for seven days even though on the box it says I should take it for 25 days.

I've never had a single hot flush/flash but am trying this mix due to my anxiety and depression.

I just wanted to know if anyone else has taken get for depression in the post menopause years.

Thanks.

Anxiety and depression can have many causes. If they came on with peri/meno there's a good chance it will work, if they pre dated it maybe not. It cured my anxiety and low mood but mine started with peri and it wasn't proper depression. The progesterone keeps your womb lining thin, if it builds up you're at increased risk of cancer so it really is important to take the prescribed dose unless you have regular scans. I hope it works for you.

Oh that's good to know, thankyou Sheila. I was thinking of doing the Prof Stuff method and he says to take prog for seven days I think. Hmm. Maybe I should go with my docs recommendation.

Some people who are progesterone intolerant take less with medical supervision but I would expect the manufacturers to have done more extensive testing. It might be that only a few people need this much but you don't know if that's you. Not worth the risk IMO unless you feel bad on it. Using it cyclically might mean you have a bleed.
