Strange question!

Hi,
I just read a post on here that said the progesterone tablets prescribed for oral use can also be used vaginally? Is this correct?
Seemed strange but possibly useful !

I am sorry if this is annoying I just need to be sure....
I have the small round tablets ustrocestan 100 which I'm supposed to take 2 of each night.
The leaflet says for oral use, this is why I'm a bit worried. I would prefer vaginally as I find tablets mess up my digestive system.
I'm not doubting what your saying but just find it weird it wouldn't say so instruction.
Are there any benefits either way ?
Thanks

Hi ds68
It doesn't say in the leaflet because it's not licensed in the uk for vaginal use. However, other countries are.
Have a look on Dr Louise Newsons menopause site, she talks about using it vaginally,

I have the 200mg because the gp couldn't find the 100mg. This does say it's for vaginal use but in the UK it's licensed for IVF but not HRT. Seems to be a matter of bureaucracy.
