Coming off HRT
« on: June 16, 2020, 07:49:54 AM »

Am suffering with heart palpitations every day, can feel my heart and pulse thumping at any time of the day and night.  Been on oestrogel gel for 1.5 months.  Am 61 and have a leaky heart valve.  Do I need to come off gradual?  Any advice please.

Hi Angie.
I would. I'd drop the half, for a couple weeks, then half again, until it's finished.
I'd be worried about a sudden crash. So to me, dropping slowly, gives your body chance to catch up, I'm sorry to hear your suffering palps, they?re horrible aren't they, and given you've got a leaky heart valve too, must be so worrisome.
I'm hoping someone will be on soon to give their spin on it too.
Good luck.
Let us know how your getting on.
Xx

Thanks Jillydoll, seems the sensible thing to do.   It's a shame to stop HRT after a fight to get on it over the age of 60 but its obviously not for me.  Xx
