The one good thing is the Lochs are very deep,so it helps, just typical though,I sit and watch for it for ages, then when we leave it's doing somersaults out of the water  >:(  ;D

My daughters cat has brought home a baby duckling, not injured. Any ideas what to do? Nearby pond but no sight of ducks. Waiting for bird rescue to open at 9am.

Happy ending. Wasn't injured at all which was surprising, the cat had scaled 6ft fence to bring it home and it wasn't a tiny baby. I took it to the local children's farm and wildlife park and they will look after it until it's big enough to join the other wild birds on their lake. The staff member who took it off me was going to take it home for a few weeks until it was settled.

I love my pair of crows. They sit and preen each other each morning.

I don't know whether it's the same stupid fly or another because they don't wear name badges.  However, it's on my radar  :beat:

A rarely seen thrush had a bath on our patio this morning, we held our breath until it went off to shake.

Know what you mean holding your breath this morning with your feathered visitor. So  privileged to have a song thrush visit. We have had one singing literally for hours each morning and evening for a few days now. Gives the local blackbirds a run for their money.
