Implant problems
« on: May 26, 2020, 08:48:31 PM »

After suffering for years trying to find a hrt pill or patch that might work, since the implant was taken off us, due to cost i was told...
I finally got referred back to a meno clinic, and the doc there said there was no problem me having the implant again, omg I can't tell you how happy I was. 😊
I was due to have my second one at the beginning of May, unfortunately covid19 and lockdown happened, the doc I had seen for my first implant had left the clinic, and now I'm being fobbed off again.🙈
I've been passed to a doctor miles away,  that rang me to say she doesn't think I need the implant yet, as sometimes they last 8 months, so she'll send me a blood form in the post to check my levels.🙈
I told her in all the years I had previously been on implants it had always been every 6 months, and I can tell it's run out, needless to say she ignored that and insisted I do blood tests, when I asked where I'm supposed to do that because there's nowhere to go, she said ring your usual clinic and ask them, it's like this because of the virus.

The blood form arrived today, I rang the meno clinic to ask where I get bloods done, they don't know,  so they'll find out and call me back.. they told me that 3 times before,  they never ring back. 🤬

I have the implant at home, I just need someone to administer it..
I'm so fed up I just don't know what to do :'(😢 if anyone has any ideas or suggestions I'd be really grateful.

Hope everyone is well and pain free,

Tina xx

Tina I'm sorry I don't have any advice for you but can I ask of your experience with HRT. My menopause has turned into depression because nothing seems to work and I don't know if I am crazy or I can't find the right HRT. X

Aww I'm sorry for such a late reply lovely,I know exactly how you feel because I was the same, and the only thing that worked for me was the implant.
Keep trying until you find something that suits you hun, and maybe ask yo be referred to a menopause clinic.
I'm sorry it's not much help xx

Using C-19 is beyond belief at a Menopause Clinic.  Isn't the NHS open for business and specialist Clinics should be running as usual.  Ask your GP?

Thank you for your reply CLKD lovely, I feel so let down and forgotten at the moment.
I had a telephone appointment with my gp, that's all we have available.
I explained what had happened at the meno clinic, that there is no doctor, no way to have my blood tests without going miles and miles away, and no guarantee I'll have someone to do my implant after that, so I've asked him to refer me back to my original meno clinic at a main hospital. He just said everywhere is like this.. that's all he ever says, I told him I've had no blood tests for my anaemia either, that I've had for 9 months.
Anyway! I was trying to decide if I should go back on the tablets I have until I can be seen, they're not great, but I feel like they might be better than nothing.
I'm worried that if I try to struggle without hrt then along with my horrendous symptoms I might also end up with osteoporosis like my mother had because she didn't take hrt.
I was suffering with depression and anxiety before this lockdown situation happened, now I can't seem to make a decision.

If anyone has any thoughts on this,  I'd be really grateful xx
