Unable to buy loo rolls and we are down to our last three. There are 4 of us, so severe rationing is about to take place.

Same as us Barnacle, down to last 2 but only 3 of us, rationing was put in place today ;D
I'm going out again for essentials as toilet roll is essential! I really cannot understand how warehouses are full of toilet rolls they have upped production and you still can't buy the stuff - unbelievable

I think i might be losing the bloody plot. I have just been trying to work out how many is actually needed per visit. Knowing my luck someone will develop the squits and all my maths will go out of the window.

I remember when everyone was laughing at Australian's stockpiling. No one is laughing now that the shoe is on the other foot. However, it did calm down here with restrictions. Shopping is not entirely normal, but you can get most of what you need. I chose not to buy into the hoarding mentality and I am cooking from scratch at the moment as you can still get plenty of fruit and veg. You can still get meat although it's not as plentiful. Toilet paper was out of stock for a few weeks, but because of rationing and restrictions, you can get it again. I live with my husband only, so anything extra I get, I give to my son or my mother. If they have enough, I give things to people I hear about who are in need. Currently I order a fruit and veg box online each week and try to use it as the base of all my meals. I now cook a meal for my husband as he is emergency services (wont say which one) and he takes his meals with his to work. Today I made a banana cake because my bananas were close to spoiling and hubby will take that for his co-workers tomorrow. I never used to be this careful with food, but I will from now on.

Barnacle, have you tried other places for loo roll?what I mean is,places you wouldn't necessarily go to,like a petrol station or a farm shop etc?
I'm scared now with this shut down, people will START panic buying again, all the shops round here have well stocked shelves, well, apart from lager  :o

Yellowflower, every one did  laugh at Australia, stockpiling toilet roll  :o now it's taken over here I still can't get my head around it .... toilet roll why? why? Did someone who owns a toilet roll factory want to boost profits or empty the warehouse, it's nuts  ::)

I'm being very careful with toilet paper, making a roll last as long as possible. I think it is good for me with ocd tendencies. I used to use too much.

Yes Jaypo, i have tried everywhere. The village where i live is small, so no shop, petrol station, pub, anything. The nearest town is 7 miles away and has 4 supermarkets, but i have been in all of them, every day for the past week and zilch. I might have to resort to foraging for dock leaves.

My friend sent me this. To the tune of "I will survive"

🎶
"At 1st I was afraid, I was petrified,

There was no loo roll down at Aldi and I nearly cried.

Oh I spent so many nights just thinking how you did me wrong,

I used to wipe,

And now I'm forced to just drip dry !

No anti-bac !

No bars of soap,

and if you think you?re buying pasta well you've got no flippin  hope !

I would have bought that box of eggs, I would have rationed out my bread,

If I'd have known for just one second everyone would lose their head !

Go on now go, walk out the door !

All you  stockpilers,

You are not welcome any more !

Weren't you the ones who just bought all the tins of  beans ?

You selfish nits !

I hope you spill them down your jeans !

Oh no not I, won't panic buy!

Oh as long as I have alcohol, I know I?ll stay alive,

Though I can't buy my usual cheese,

This will not bring me to my knees

And I?ll survive, I will survive, hey, hey !

It took all the strength I had not to fall apart,

There was just apples and 1 carrot in my shopping cart,

And I spent hours walking round just feeling sorry for myself,

The empty store, with boxes strewn across the floor

And you?ll see me, somebody who,

Cannot buy anything she came for, and it's all because of  you

And my neighbour down the road is such a selfish blinking  g*t

Because he stockpiled all the loo roll,  no else can have a s@*t !

Go on now go, walk out the door !

All you stockpilers,

You are not welcome any more!

Weren't you the ones who just bought all the pre made cakes

Can't you make crumble?,

Do you not know how to bake ?

Oh no not I, won't panic buy !

Oh as long as I have alcohol, I know I?ll stay alive,

Though I can't buy my usual cheese

This will not bring me to my knees

And I?ll survive, I will survive ! Heh heh "
