Our nearest Sainsburys is a 30 mile round trip
but we have a town 4 miles away, another 7 miles away and another 22 miles ....... and usually we can combine other interests with a grocery shopping trip: i.e. antiques, garden centres, walking along the canal path with a lolly - now however

Who gets wet when you have to pass at 2 metres on a canal tow path?

A Derby councillor has slammed the "disgusting" and "stupid" actions of people who have dumped food after panic buying due to the coronavirus outbreak.
Ajit Singh Atwal, a Liberal Democrat who represents the Stockbrook Abbey ward, shared images on Twitter of wheelie bins packed full of food, much of it still fresh and within date.

Not as angry as I am
I'm spitting bricks as I foresaw this weeks ago - if people have too much take it to a food bank or local Zoo
but they are thick as well as stupid

He went to a proper butcher then? Where was the pork reared, slaughtered, prepared? and the eggs are from where exactly? Sounds pricey even so!
Apparently a charity in Wisbech has been broken into around 2.20 a.m. - where were the Police then? They have cleared the Charity of stocks meant for vulnerable in the area.

That's made me livid CKLD what a waste, what the hell is wrong with people
Stellajane wow that's ridiculous our local butcher is really good value for money & they rear there own beef, chicken, pork & lamb is all local or within Yorkshire. Eggs are also local and it's all delicious!

It was to be expected as people don't have any idea how to cook stuff when they get it home
- bit like buying a puppy and then dumping it when he/she doesn't suit

Good quality food and less waste?
Pet shops may deliver in your area.

DH could buy milk today. He can't get the beer he likes, so now with no tea or beer, he's going cold turkey.
. Glad I drink mint tea and no alcohol! Yesterday we didn't have any water for a few hours. That was a thirsty time.....just almond milk to drink. No warning. Keep having low pressure. My washing machine doesn't like it.
